Notifications on iOS devices act as convenient alerts, showing new messages, app updates, reminders and more directly on the lock screen within Notification Center. With Bloom, this essential feature gets a delightful twist, introducing stunning animations adorned with colors inspired by the flagship app icon.

Fortunately, iOS developer yandevelop has released a new jailbreak tweak called Bloom that introduces new notification-centric animations to keep you excited every time a new notification comes across your iPhone screen.

Introduction to Bloom Tweak

Bloom is a jailbreak tweak that brings a new experience to notifications by playing wonderfully designed animations. This tweak supports modern rootless jailbreaks like Dopamien and Palera1n, and it will work on jailbreaks running iOS 14.0 through iOS 16.7.7.

Version 1.1.4

  • Add an option to disable animations in the currently active application.
  • Fix notification sound not playing in some rare cases

After installation, Bloom adds a dedicated preferences window to your Settings app, giving you the power to tweak it to your liking. In this window, you can effortlessly turn Bloom on or off, select display modes, and choose from five stunning animations.

Also, a dedicated preference lets you effortlessly switch between color modes, from dynamic icon colors to static colors. By default, Bloom makes clever use of icon colors to create its stunning animations.

To change the notification animation on your jailbroken devices go to Bloom tweak’s preferences window and open Animations. From here you can choose one of the animations.

With Bloom, you get OLED display-friendly animation effects that match the color of the app icon you receive a notification on. Those animations can include particles coming from the top of your screen (like the Notchification jailbreak tweak we showed you in 2018) or you can instead choose display animations that move around your screen in different ways.

Not only do these animations look cool, they also give your iPhone a new twist from the average iPhone, which helps you stand out from the crowd. For that reason, it’s a great way to get more people interested in jailbreaking.

Once installed, Bloom adds a dedicated Preferences window to the Settings app where you can configure several options to your liking:

Things you can do here include:

  • Toggle blooming on demand
  • Enable Bloom on lock screen via SpringBoard or both
  • Configuring animations
    • Choosing between the following animation types:
      • Pulse
      • Outline
      • Particles
      • Contrary
      • Symmetric
    • Choose how many times the animation will repeat
    • Choose the animation speed
    • Choose whether the animation takes its color from the app icon or uses a static color you choose
    • View a test animation to see how it would look
  • Enable or disable Bloom when Do Not Disturb mode is enabled
  • Blacken the lock screen during the animation for a more dramatic effect
