Introduction Exiwall tweak

Love the lock screen ios 16 wallpaper depth effect but don’t want to upgrade and lose your jailbreak? Now with Exiwall, you can!

Exiwall generates deep effect wallpapers where you can put part of the subject of the wallpaper on your lock screen date/time.

iOS 16 depth effect wallpapers require iPhone Xs or higher (A12+), but with this tweak, you can also get this effect on your old iPhones and give them new life. It works on all photos taken from an ios device or downloaded from the web or an Android phone! Under the hood, Exiwall uses sophisticated machine learning analysis to create this profound effect. All this happens offline on your device, respecting your privacy.

iOS 16 introduced a feature known from watchOS that adds depth to the wallpaper on the lock screen. It renders a wallpaper in 3D by selecting the foreground of the image and overlaying it in real time.

Since this feature will be new in iOS 16, jailbreakers on iOS 14 will feel a little under the weather as their operating system doesn’t do this natively, but iOS developer FoxFortMobile is effectively porting a new jailbreak tweak release called Exiwall. Feature for pwned iOS 14 lock screens.

Examples of the wallpaper depth effect appear in the screenshots embedded above. The sections where the fish appears on the date and time, the mountain covers part of the date, and you can see the dog’s ear sticking out over the date. The effect is so subtle that you might miss it if you’re not paying attention.

Notes:

  • Exiwall works best on images with big well lit subjects with contrasting backgrounds. It might have poor effect on low light images, grainy photos or those which have no contrasting subjects. It will not work with stock/built-in ios wallpapers.
  • It is not compatible with perspective zoom feature (moving of wallpaper when device is tilted).
  • Exiwall is not a lockscreen customiser, it’s sole purpose is to allow you to place your wallpaper subject over the date/time area. For customisation purposes, you need to use other tweaks like Kalm, Jellyfish, etc..
  • It works on IPhone 6s and above and requires ios 14.0 (not compatible with iPads).
  • It provides limited compatibility with Jellyfish, Kalm, Quart, WeatherLS, SimpleTime, Fabric 2, Complications, Watermelon, Axon, Analog, Diary and DualClock 2.
  • It will not work with Vartaman, FreshWall, Ventana, Helix, Xen Html, FrontPage and LockPlus.
  • It only supports portrait orientation and photos (will not work with video wallpapers).
  • Exiwall only supports placing the wallpaper subject over the date/time view. Other items like complications/widgets/lock icon/battery charging indicators will always appear above the wallpaper subject.
